A photographic project celebrating both the history and modernity of London. A metropolis shaped over more than two millennia, continuously evolving over that time to remain one of the most iconic cities in the world. The photos I’ve shared here are the results of countless hours exploring the city, seeking photographic opportunities along the way.

It was difficult to put into just a few words why I started this project, explain why I feel compelled to photograph London’s cityscape and provide some background on some of the creative choices I made when the project started. To avoid making this project page too wordy, I posted an introduction to the Timeless City project on my blog.

I wrote this article, not only to explain my decision to use the square crop, but also to help me better understand why I’m so drawn to it. Choosing the square format was an instinctive decision that felt right for the project as a whole. However, it was only afterwards that I began to reflect on what it adds to each individual image.
